The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a clean sweep in the Zamfara State local government election, winning all 14 chairmanship seats and 147 councillor positions
This victory was announced by Bala Aliyu, Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), on Sunday morning.
Addressing newsmen after the collation exercise in Gusau, the Commission’s chairman said that PDP candidates had emerged victorious across all LGAs, which include Gusau, Kaura-Namoda, Maru, Talata Mafara, and Anka.
Aliyu hailed the local government elections as free and fair, commending the collaborative efforts of security services, election authorities, and voters.
This endorsement was echoed by Wadatau Madawaki, the PDP’s delegate at the collation center, who expressed jubilation over the election results.
