BadGal Hezo, born Kagoya Hanunah Hezo on April 23, 2002, in Budondo, Jinja, Uganda, is a fast-rising Ugandan singer, songwriter, model, and content creator. She attended Victoria Nile School and Jinja Progressive SS, later earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Dance & Drama from Makerere University. Initially performing under the name Hezo Dboss Quin, she struggled for recognition until rebranding as BadGal Hezo, symbolizing her boldness and confidence.
Her breakthrough came in 2021 after partnering with manager Dr Cephcoh (Ismail Ssefuko), who helped refine her brand and sound. She has since gained significant attention with hit singles such as “Owedde,” “Owange,” “Njoya,” and “Birenze (feat. Mugaba)”. Her music blends Afropop, dancehall, and Ugandan urban sounds, often exploring themes of love, empowerment, and resilience.
BadGal Hezo describes herself as “the baddest, hottest, and most talented girl in the world,” a mantra that fuels her confident stage persona and lyrical style. Beyond music, she is active in fashion and social media, using her platform to inspire young women in the creative industry. Despite early challenges, her persistence, charisma, and growing fanbase have made her one of Uganda’s most promising female artists, poised for regional and global recognition.
