Donald Trump and his family arrived at a Washington DC church on Inauguration Day ahead of his ceremony at 12:00 EST (17:00 GMT).
The traditional outdoor event at the US Capitol has been moved indoors due to freezing temperatures and a wind chill of -13°C (9°F).
After taking the oath of office, Trump will deliver an address to the nation. Later in the day, he is expected to attend three inaugural balls.
Ahead of Trump’s swearing-in, outgoing President Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons to several individuals, including Dr. Anthony Fauci and law enforcement officers who testified about the Capitol riot.
In his final rally, Trump promised to sign multiple executive orders on his first day in office.
