Pierra Makena is set to make history next weekend. She will become the first Kenyan DJ and the first African artist to perform at the main arena of the Perth Rugby Sevens in Australia. This performance will take place during the HSBC SVNS series.
The news was shared by Pierra on her social media. She posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from the event’s organizers. The message confirmed the exciting opportunity.
Pierra will entertain the ‘Kenya Corner’ during the event on January 25th and 26th. She will bring high energy and positive vibes to the crowd. The Perth Sevens Festival marks a significant milestone in her career.
In her social media post, Pierra expressed her excitement: “Breaking news!!! Guys I can’t keep calm… first African DJ & artist to perform at the Rugby 7’s main arena in Australia! #Kenyan pride #shujaa spirit #Kenya to the world #DJ Makena.”
The message also shared that a dedicated stand, W103-W105, has been set aside for Kenyan fans at the event. Additionally, Pierra and other Kenyan DJs will perform at two venues in Australia: Aberdeen Night Club on Friday and Villa on Saturday.
Pierra will perform in front of over 35,000 people. The crowd will witness Kenya’s Shujaa team face off against Fiji in what is expected to be an intense match.
