Gospel musician Joyce Blessing has expressed her desire to collaborate with some of Ghana’s top secular artists. Among those she hopes to work with are rapper Sarkodie and dancehall stars Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

Joyce Blessing, famous for her hit song “Oluwa Is Involved,” has sparked discussions about the growing connection between gospel and secular music in Ghana. Her interest in collaborating with secular musicians has raised eyebrows and sparked conversation.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Joyce shared her aspirations. She was asked about secular artists she would consider working with. “I want to do a collaboration with Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale,” she said.

The award-winning artist also addressed a common question about working with secular musicians. “No one has been bold enough to ask me why I feature people who do not sing church songs on my songs,” she said.

Joyce Blessing explained that her mission is to spread messages of hope and faith to a wider audience, beyond traditional gospel fans. She aims to reach listeners who may not typically engage with gospel music.

Reflecting on her journey in the gospel music industry, Joyce shared a personal experience that influenced her decision to embrace collaborations with secular artists. “I wanted a collaboration with some of my fellow gospel artists. I won’t mention names, but the person turned me down. I think the person felt I was a competitor,” she revealed.

Her openness to blending genres has sparked discussions about the evolving nature of music in Ghana.
